Meet Andy

Andy Schmidt is a percussion performer and educator based in Wenatchee, Washington

Andy graduated in 2021 from Central Washington University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Percussion Performance. His love of percussion began over ten years ago here in the Wenatchee Valley while studying under Mike Conrad. After earning 1st place in Multi-Percussion at State Solo & Ensemble his senior year of high school, Andy was inspired to pursue percussion and teaching as a career.

Andy has since performed in a variety of high-caliber ensembles, including the CWU Wind Ensemble & CWU Percussion Ensemble. He marched competitively with IMPACT Indoor Percussion and served as drumline captain in the CWU Marching Band. Andy has also had the privilege of coaching the drumlines at Naches Valley High School and Eastmont High School. He currently coaches at Cascade High School in Leavenworth and performs in the Wenatchee Valley Symphony and Leavenworth Summer Theatre.
